Conceptual Film Poster

For this project, I was tasked to create a poster for a film about the Futura typeface. When researching the history and use of the typeface, it was mentioned as being the “typeface of today and tomorrow” and that NASA used it in the Apollo missions. Being that it is a popular typeface, I wanted to focus on one aspect of the typeface and expand from there. Also, the fact that Futura is similar sounding/writing to future, I wanted to focus on the aspect of tomorrow and looking towards the future.

Brainstorming and Sketches

I used the NASA website to look for more information and instances where the typeface was used and started making sketches for both a poster and web slider.

Project Drafts

The process of making the poster was a bit hard because I had the idea of using the slogan of “the typeface of today and tomorrow” and mimicking it visually. I wanted to poster to look like it had a rocket in the making and going through space at the same time; as if you see it in its present and future forms.
