Sketches And Moodboard
I decided to continue what I started with the beer label design and focus on Afrofuturism. I gave the menu a spin as if it were a sister company of Omniverse Brewing Co. I went a more elegant route, focusing on the beauty of patterns.
Originally, I went for a bi-fold in my sketches but had to go back and develop it more into a gatefold. The gatefold allowed for more space for menu items and design aspects that would separate the restaurant and brewery while still allowing the pages to relate to each other.
Final Product
I looked into some non-mainstream food offered in the City of New Orleans and landed on Ethiopian food. Choosing a gatefold also allowed me to play with the presentation of the menu. I was able to make it seem more like an experience as if you are opening up to another dimension.
