Travel Poster

For this travel poster, I wanted to depict a place in Puerto Rico that isn’t widely popular but is still in the media. That is why I chose the neighborhood of El Cerro in Naranjito, Puerto Rico. The popularity of the neighborhood came to because of someone named Chemi-Rosado Seijo. Chemi was able to revitalize the community not only by repainting the houses to emulate the mountainside but also by creating a community center that allowed people to congregate.

Mindmapping And Sketches

In the beginning, I knew I wanted to do a travel poster of Puerto Rico, but I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to depict. Mind mapping helped me by essentially giving me a list of ideas to pull from for my sketches.

Inspiration

I looked for visual inspiration directly from pictures of El Cerro. They depict how well the houses in different shades of green start to camouflage the mountainside.
